Good morning wonderful families,
I hope your stallions enjoyed Fun Fest as much as we did! What an excellent job of our 4th and 5th grade students to put their Leader In Me skills to the test by helping to facilitate Fun Fest for our younger learners! I am so proud of their leadership.
We have so much to be proud of this year as we were able to not only keep our school open safely, but bring back many of our beloved traditions together as a community. Our students have been able to enjoy a new rigorous curriculum in partnership with the arboretum out in our newly constructed accessible LOLA! All of our students were able to showcase their talents in either an evening musical performance or a musical theater performance. Hats off to our talented fifth grade class and the first DISD Musical Theater Elementary program who gave us an amazing performance of Music Man Jr. Thanks to our dedicated and generous parents, our community was able to gather together in support of our campus for fall festival, movie night, and in person fund raisers!
To top it off, our students are feeling the campus growth, love and joy, as it is reflected in their own student experience survey results. Each year our students take a perception survey regarding their experiences with classroom climate, engagement, pedagogical effectiveness, rigorous expectations and teacher-student relationships. As a campus we grew 8% points in overall positive responses from spring of 2021, and we showed gains in every category! (See below for more details)!
As we wrap up this incredible year, we are looking forward to celebrating our students hard work, growth, and leadership with our in person award ceremonies. Thank you for all of your support!
Stallion Strong,
Principal Thompson
