NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fall Fest was a huge success with an estimated 3,000 attendees this year. It would not have been possible without our amazing sponsors so we thank them for their monetary and material contributions to make it such a great event. Thank you to our families for making it special as well with baskets in our silent auction, volunteering, and donations to the cake walk. Huge shoutout to LOLA and FOL for bringing the potions and scares to the event as well!!!

Please note there are no student dress up days for Red Ribbon week. Activities will be held in school to celebrate.

National ID Kit Distribution

With the passage of SB 2158, TEA has tasked each district with the distribution of the National ID kits to all of our students K-8. These ID kits can be used in the event of an emergency to provide law enforcement agencies with detailed information to help you reunite you with your missing family member. Students will take the kits home (instructions included) to their parent/guardian to keep at home.

When it comes to community, we really hit the jackpot! Thank you for doubling down and supporting LECPTA and, in turn, our incredible neighborhood schools by purchasing Auction Party tickets. They sold out in record time! If you didn't score one, don't worry! Your luck has not run out. Here's how you can support...

Bid in the Silent Auction

The VLL Silent Auction is available to ANYONE! We'll provide more info as the date approaches, but look forward to bidding from your phone wherever you may be.

Provide Silent Auction items

You can bet our auction team is working hard to source jackpot items in order to raise funds and support our school. We'd love your help finding more: holiday items, sports tickets & gear, concert suites, jewelry, vacation homes, family experiences, memberships and beauty items.

If you have questions, or an item you'd like to donate please contact Auction Chair, Jessica Edwards (jcastilloedwards@gmail.com) or donate to the Gift Card Pull via Venmo (@Rachel-Caum).

Thank you for supporting LECPTA and, in turn, Lakewood Elementary and our feeder pattern schools! Be sure to follow @LECPTA and @VivaLasLakewood for more!

As a special bonus to celebrate the tour being back and in person, the Candlelight portion of the tour (exclusively Saturday, November 12th from 7-9:30) will feature a bonus 7th home for one night only. This meticulously maintained mid century modern was built in 1954 and designed by Dallas’ EG Hamilton, best known for designing Dallas’ NorthPark Center. Get your Candlelight Tickets at www.lakewoodhometour.com today!

Attention, 2nd Grade Parents! The 2nd Grade Performance is tonight, Thursday, October 20th in two sections based on your child's teacher:

6:30pm - Campbell, Johnson, Brooks and Lopez

2A will be performing with the Class with which they attend specials. Mr. Reich and Ms. Prieto will share those details with 2A parents.

Information regarding attire (all black) came in an email from your teacher.

Please note the General PTA Meeting will be at 6pm, in between the two performances, so plan to stay after or come early to hear what's going on and how to get involved.

October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. This month Lakewood Elementary will honor the loving memory of one of our very own Stallions, Virginia Lang. As we remember her during this very special month, Lakewood Elementary is collaborating with a close family friend to install a memorial bench in honor of Virginia. During the month of October, we are encouraging families to donate in Virginia's memory to the Rett Syndrome Research Trust, a non-profit organization that we admire a great deal for its bold approach to advancing research on Rett Syndrome. The RSRT provides so much love and support for children like Virginia and their families.

Donations can be made online at https://reverserett.org/donate/

Please click “In memory of” and write in Virginia’s name.

Or you can make your contribution by mailing a check made out to RSRT to:

(Please write “Virginia Lang” on the memo line)
