Dear Stallion Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we continue settling into the school year! I want to take a moment to shout out the incredible work of our Lakewood staff and the tremendous support we’ve received from our community this past month.

First, I’d like to recognize the outstanding efforts of our teachers. Their dedication to building strong routines, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring our students are set up for success has been nothing short of inspiring. Whether they are working on new curriculum initiatives, refining classroom procedures, or making sure each student feels welcomed and supported, their commitment is truly making a difference. We are so fortunate to have such a passionate and talented team!

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Lakewood community. The generosity and engagement from families has been remarkable, from volunteering at school events to offering support in and out of the classroom. Your partnership means the world to us, and it’s because of this strong collaboration that we’re able to continue creating a positive and enriching environment for all our students.

In line with our theme this year, "One Team, One Dream," we are continuing to focus on teamwork, both in the classroom and throughout the school. It’s been inspiring to see everyone come together to support one another, whether it’s helping during arrival or working to ensure our students have what they need to thrive.

As we head into another great week, I want to thank each of you again for being part of this incredible Lakewood community. Together, we are creating something special and laying the foundation for a successful and memorable school year.

Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to another great week of learning and growing together!

Stallion Strong,

Principal Thompson

Lakewood is excited to announce that we will again have the SEEDS program on our campus for the 2024-2025 school year as an added academic, social, and emotional support for all students. The SEEDS program will provide various needed services to our campus including a calming space with emotional support when students are faced with big emotions, small group support for building specific skills, teacher and parent education, wellness events and more. The SEEDS program on our campus is open to ALL students. There are times in every child’s life where a little extra support is needed for academic success, and that is where SEEDS fits into our puzzle here at Lakewood.

Please note that if your student is chosen to participate in an ongoing small group, additional information will be given, and permission obtained before student participation. If you would like to opt your student out of the SEEDS program, please fill out this form. Filling out this form means that your student will not have access to the SEEDS calming space and will not participate in SEEDS wellness programming. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your grade-level counselor.

Welcome back to LOLA!

Our nature-themed LOLA education classes will begin in September for 3rd and 4th grade classes.  We’d love for parent volunteers to help assist!  All volunteers MUST have an updated VOLY registration.

Check in at the front office and meet Lisa Dolliver (Dallas Arboretum) in LOLA 5-10 minutes before your child's LOLA session starts for instruction. Volunteers may help with set up/clean up, take action photos, assist students with hands-on activities, etc.

FOL’s Camp Lakewood Fall 2024 takes us back to the astonishing cool Grady Spruce campground! We take over the camp for a weekend and enjoy the cabins that rest along the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake. Take a short boat ride over to Hells Gate and hike to the top or enjoy a slow horseback ride or even a zoom down a zip line! It’s going to be an amazing weekend.

Don't miss the Inaugural Wildcat Sneaker Ball!
