Dear Lakewood Families,

We’re looking forward to our Career Day tomorrow! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing counselors, Ms. Cobb and Ms. Booth, as well as our wonderful PTA Career Day committee, we have 48 incredible speakers lined up to inspire and educate our students. This event is always a highlight, offering students a unique opportunity to explore different careers, ask questions, and learn from the expertise of our guests. We’re excited for the learning and community-building that will come from this special day!

I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who helped make the amazing LECPTA fundraising events over the weekend such a success. Your dedication and contributions are invaluable to our school, and it was wonderful to see our community come together for such a positive experience. Your hard work truly makes a difference, and we are so grateful to have such an engaged and supportive parent community!

Lastly, I want to acknowledge the dedication of our Lakewood staff. Their commitment to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment is the foundation of our school. Every day, they go above and beyond to ensure our students are growing academically, socially, and emotionally. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team guiding our students.

Thank you to everyone for making Lakewood such a vibrant, supportive, and inspiring place to learn and grow. We’re looking forward to a fantastic Career Day tomorrow and many more shared experiences in the months to come!

Stallion Strong,

Principal Thompson

Tomorrow!

We are proud to honor Teddy Heape for his bravery and courage in his journey to fight medulloblastoma. This Lakewood kindergartener had brain surgery in December 2023, radiation in the spring of 2024, and recently completed chemotherapy a few weeks ago. He has 2 brothers that attend Lakewood - Henry in third grade, and twin brother George in kindergarten. His family has been a true inspiration and we are glad to support their fight!

Tomorrow, November 15th, please wear a blue shirt or a Team Teddy shirt to show our support as a whole school. Get ready for some fun morning drop off surprises!

Ready for a FREE movie night under the stars? Join the Lakewood PTA for a fun-filled evening with food, treats, and a fantastic film! Bring a blanket or chair, grab your friends and family, and make some memories. Showtime is 6:30! We'll also be accepting donations for the Mt. Auburn and JL Long Peace Pantries – scan the QR codes (here or at the event) to donate digitally.
