Dear Lakewood Families,

Tonight we look forward to welcoming our future kindergarten stallions to our campus for Round Up!  Thank you to Kathleen Munoz, Dorothy Powell and the PTA committee who have poured their hearts into making this a memorable night for these families as they prepare to send their future stallions to Lakewood.  I am also thankful for PTA leaders Caitlin Maddox and Shannon Stuart who have helped lead the charge on campus beautification projects to help our campus shine as bright as our students!   Finally, a special thank you to Meredith Conly and her team of painters who have spent the past 2 weeks brightening up the auditorium with a mural of a stallion.  "One Team, One Dream" was really put to the test in preparation for this special event and seeing the teamwork and cooperation is inspiring.

As we close out the end of our 3rd 9 weeks of school tomorrow, I want to wish you all a Happy Spring Break!  I hope our stallions have time to rest and recharge and get ready for the final home stretch of the school year.

Stallion Strong,
Principal Thompson

First Grade wins First Place!

Congratulations to our Lakewood first graders for collecting the most items for the Woodrow Community Peace Pantry Food Drive Contest!

The Woodrow Peace Pantry helps supplement meals and provides healthy snacks, uniforms, and shoes for our DISD students in need. Our grade-level competition food drive concluded on February 28 and the donations have been tallied—First Grade will get to enjoy a popsicle party on behalf of the Woodrow Peace Pantry!

Thanks to everyone who participated! They are grateful for Lakewood’s support!

Mark your calendars for LOLA NIGHT and don't forget to have your stallions work on the LOLA Project!
